Caucasian Shepherd, 6-12 Months Female, Purebred

Caucasian Shepherd, 6-12 Months Female, Purebred Highlights

• Loyal and Protective Guardian: Caucasian Shepherds are renowned for their strong protective instincts and unwavering loyalty to their families. They are naturally wary of strangers and make excellent guard dogs.
• Requires Experienced Handling: Due to their size, strength, and independent nature, Caucasian Shepherds benefit greatly from early socialization and consistent, firm training from an experienced owner.
• Large Breed with Significant Needs: These dogs grow to be very large and powerful. They require ample space to move, regular exercise, and a diet formulated for large breeds to support their growth and health.
• Potential for Socialization Challenges: While loyal to their families, their natural guarding instincts can lead to suspicion of other animals and people if not properly socialized from a young age.
• Moderate Grooming Requirements: Their thick double coat requires regular brushing, especially during shedding seasons, to prevent matting and keep their coat healthy. Occasional professional grooming may be beneficial.
• Lifespan and Health Considerations: Caucasian Shepherds typically live 10-12 years. Like many large breeds, they can be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, so responsible breeding and proper nutrition are important.
